Liquid Liquid Extraction yield calculator?

Swinfi2 - 21-6-2025 at 05:23

Hi,

After learning a bit about how to read ternary phase diagrams and struggling slightly with the process I thought I'd share a tool I've made to make things easier.

It's a work in progress but hopefully someone finds it useful.

If you're planning on an extraction but don't know if it will work, find a ternary phase diagram. put the tie line data in the spreadsheet and play with the volumes you intend to mix up and it should give you a theoretical extraction yield. (or something will highlight red indicating it might not work as you expect, or the calculator has borked the numbers).

Feedback requested please?
If there is enough interest i'm going to add more features like a dropdown selector for the phase diagram library (only 3 on there so far but its easy to add to)
