I wish to create a soluble lead compound. I thought of 2 of the ways. Will any of these work? If yes how long shall it take?
A) add vinegar to PbO2 and then add a bit of ethanol. Apparently PbO2 can oxidize primary alcohol to aldehyde so i think this may work in reducing
PbO2 so acetic can form acetates.
B) add PbO2 to saturated NaOH solution. It is amphoteric so it should do the trick. The NaOH should make the plumbate ion. I am concerned it will be
slow as it is at room temp and it is approx 15-20C at my place.
So i have a question
How long will either take at room temperature?
Is there another accessible way to do this?

there are a lot of post of lead salts, try to find some.
but, nitric acid is for me the fastest way to make soluble lead salt (in this case Pb(NO3)2).-

regarding using vinegar (or acetic acid):
"Acetic acid with hydrogen peroxide can dissolve Pb quickly and, under some conditions, in a matter of minutes"

better to mix acetic acid and h2o2 with an drop sulfuric acid and make Peracetic acid there is an video on youtube that stuff is as good as HNO3 .

i think you can quickly dissolve lead provided you use a divided cell to stop the Pb migrating to the cathode, i know ive seen this done for copper,
using sintered glass coating the cathode or even just plaster (according to someone more knowledgeable than myself), but with some additives to ensure
conductivity.
has anyone tried using AC instead of DC to try dissolving lead in acetic acid though? and then doing something to bias the oxidation/dissolution over
the plating out again.
