When i make an ice bath for cooling down contents of a beaker, what is the best way to do it? I have been adding water and salt and then adding some crushed ice and a few bigger blocks... How can i get the coldest temperature possible?

if you want to achieve the coldest temperature by salt ice bath then keep your gradulated cylinder filled with chemicals in a large container of little less height than gradulated cylinder then fill the beaker with ice and 2 spoons ofsalt . then add the water not too much, only litle 1/4 ofthe volume of beaker and the rest is ice .the more the area of contact of reactants with ice chilled water the more the cooling effect
