Interesting/suspicious Ebay chems

Here's a new seller who's only listing four chems. Two of which are 90% Fuming Nitric Acid and Pentaerythritol!

An interesting combo to be selling huh? Me thinks I'd avoid this.

His listed courier for the HNO3 is with USPS... could be a trap. Could also be he just doesn't know/care about the shipping regulations..

Is it illegal for buyers to receive hazardous material via USPS, or is it just for the shipper? Would it only be illegal if the buyer was made aware that it was coming USPS (and thus the shipper and buyer both might have the burden to know mail regulations)?

It is the responsibility of the shipper, but under the worst scenario the buyer could probably get some heat if caught or there is a leak. I once had a personal package with a liquid chemical cleaner shipped to work via UPS that leaked and caused a a small mess, and while we were used to getting chemicals, since this was a personal delivery, it was not very easy to resolve.

So I would be very wary of buying chemicals from anyone who says they ship them via USPS, although if they sell other non-chemical items, that could just be a default that they have not changed. But it could certainly be someone looking for stupid buyers as well.

The feedback looks nice.

However, it appears he only has 2 now:

1. 100g Parabenzoquinone, p-benzoquinone
2. One pint 70% Nitric Acid, 16floz

Interesting.
