suitable solvent

What are the suitable solvents available inorder to recover the product from silicagel in column chromatography

This should be in beginnings, and you probably need to be more specific about what product you are collecting, what solvents you have available, details about your column and more.

All I'll say for now is that petroleum ether seems to be a common one.

all i'll say is saturate your medium in solvent before loading the column so it does not expand and crack your column.

if you want answers as to what solvent will work best, we need to know the compound to be dissolved. what other compounds may also be present would be helpful as you need a solvent that will afford good separation and move the compounds at different speeds. many solvents may dissolve your products well but not achieve good separation.

That is certainly not true. The petroleum ether, or alkanes in general, are used for the very opposite reason. They retain the products on silicagel. That's why they are used in eluent mixtures, to increase retention on silica.

Polar solvents are used in order to rapidly elute the compounds from silicagel. But dhaanuorganic's question remains unanswerable due to lack of information. It is not even clear what the question is.
