Rare earths

Steve_hi - 15-12-2013 at 17:48

I would like to know if there might be a market here in the forum for rare earths. If any one might be interested you could send me a u2u I don't know any prices yet I'm just checking to see if that's something that would sell. But please be aware that rare earths are not cheap.

Well are you looking to sell rare earth elements, or buy them. id try http://elementsales.com/ for purchase they seem pretty reasonable with prices, and appear to be ebay linked. www.unitednuclear.com has allot of useful hard to get items to. unfortunately they sell out of stock pretty quickly

You could try separation from gadolinite (aka Ytterbite) which is a silicate mineral which consists principally of the silicates of cerium, lanthanum, neodymium, yttrium, beryllium, and iron with the formula (Ce,La,Nd,Y)2FeBe2Si2O10. It can be found in Texas, Colorado, and Sweden. If you can not find or get it, I can probably ship you some in January (I am going to Ytterby, Sweden. This is where it was discovered.) U2U me if you are interested.
The price would be $5 per 50g of Gadolinite and another $6 for shipping.

On eBay there is a seller called rareearthmetalsllc which sells quite a few rare earth metals and salts. I purchased 100g of praseodymium oxide and some samarium from them, very good quality.

He's looking to sell, not buy.

Steve_hi, why U2U? If you post details publicly, more members will express interest.

yes of course I would be interested! any element collector and spectroscopy enthusiast would! now the quantity quality AND price have to be looked at!

elementcollector1 - 16-12-2013 at 18:12

I'm quite interested, but I'd have to see prices first...

i want a cargo ship load of iridium, and i'm willing to travel as far as Ceres to get it

TheChemiKid - 18-12-2013 at 12:22

Then try harnessing asteroids, they have higher iridium levels than on earth.
If you can go to Ceres, you can get to asteroids.:D

Anyone else know anything about rareearthmetalsllc in terms of trustworthiness? I might buy from them soon.

The Volatile Chemist - 13-6-2014 at 19:26

@ElectroWin If you're willing to go to Uranus, I'd sell cheap :P (NO PUN INTENDED!)
I might buy if you sold on e-bay...
