Today I will show you guys an interesting experiment.
Like this:
Reagents:
CPPO[Bis(2,4,5-trichloro-6-CarboPentoxyPhenyl)Oxalate]
Dibutyl phthalate(Solvent)
30% Peroxide
Bert-butyl alcohol(Emulsifier)
Glow Dye[Perylene(Blue)]
Sodium salts(catalyst)(Sodium salicylate is the best,you can also use sodium acetate or sodium carbonate)
Reaction principle:reaction between CPPO and peroxide produce an erratic organic peroxides.Then the peroxide decompose and produce CO2 and energy.The
glow dye received energy and become active,then it release the energy as Photons.The
frequency of the Photons(the color of the light)was decided by the structure of the glow dye.
Steps:
1)Preparation of Solution A
a.Add 1gram CPPO to 10mL Dibutyl phthalate in a beaker
b.Water bath to accelerate the dissolution
c.Dip a little sodium salts and add it to the solution
2)Preparation of Solution B
a.Measure 6 mL t-Bu alcohol and pour into another beaker
b.Measure 4 mL Peroxide
c.Mix t-Bu alcohol and Peroxide
3)Mix Solution A and B
a.Mix equal volumes of Solution A and B
b.Add a little dye to the mixture
c.Rapid stirring to mix them well
d.Turn of the light

You're right,I'm a senior high school student in China.I established a lab in my house.I get on well with the boss of the local reagent shop,so I
could get many reagents there.
PS:I post this topic in the afternoon in China,but at midnight in the US!

Thanks.CPPO is not a common reagent so it was hard to get.AlfaAesar has CPPO but it was very expensive.luckily I found a person who sells CPPO and
other reagents and its cheap,I got 100 grams for about 5 dollars(28RMB)plante1999 - 2-1-2014 at 03:06
Taking a picture of the chemioluminescence in the dark could give a good idea on the light emitted.

Chemical glow experiment is beautiful,but it is also Hazardous,so I add some Cautions below for reference
The risk of environmental pollution:CPPO will HYDROLYSIS when in Alkaline environment and produce DIOXINS Solution:add Fenton Reagent [Mixture of Iron(II) Sulfate and 30% Peroxide] to decompose the CPPO
Health Hazards: Dibutyl phthalate has Reproductive toxicity 30% Peroxide is Corrosive Do NOT TOUCH it directly
Tert-butyl alcohol is Extremely Flammable
Aviod flame
