Do we have information on this explosive on this caht board? How is it made?

"A synthesis more amenable to scale-up involves the condensation of acetamidine hydrochloride and diethyl oxalate in MeOH to yield a mixture of
2-methylene-4,5-imidazolidinedione and 2-methoxy-2-methyl-4,5-imidazolidinedione (23). Recrystalisation of the mixture from MeOH yields 23 which was
nitrated and treated with ammonium hydroxide [at pH 8-9] to yield FOX-7 in 50% overall yield."
When it says "more amenable to scale-up," I think that is compared to the route starting with 2-methylimidazole, involving
nitration/oxidation to something a bit more complex, followed by hydrolysis to FOX-7. The intermediate in this reaction is sensitive, and so it is not
favoured.

There is a thread on RogueSci discussing this explosive, The thread can be found here;

Lol, I haven't done anything to my site in ages. No motivation, that's my problem. But thanks anyway .
The Roguesci thread is where I got that quote from. I also have some patents which I'll try to dig out later...
