RIP to 108 researchers traveling to 20th International AIDS Conference traveling on the plane of Malaysian airlines which was shot down.
Although I almost dont know anything in this field, losing over hundreds of great minds who have spent years and decades of time to study is sad.

crappy, I have been following *some* of the airliner accident, but I had no clue it was a bunch of researchers. what a shame.

My sister-in-law was 32 years old when HIV got her, I lost another lifelong friend to it 18 months ago and have other close friends that have it. "By
the Grace of God" I don't have it I darn sure engaged in pretty risky behavior at one time.
The whole thing is just a tragedy, researchers or not.
