Cheap cem prices from Estonia....

Keres - 2-3-2005 at 12:52

Hello!

I have looked this forum for some time now. And I see that chemicals are very expencive in uk, swe and other eur countries. The same chemicals are much much cheaper in Estonia. And the list of the chemicals you can buy is even bigger.

So I have an idea to sell chemicals by DHL

Here is the short list:

Acetic acid 99-100%
Ammonia liquor 15-29%
Ammonium chloride 99%
Calcium carbide 99%-100%
Calcium hypochloride
Citric acid 100%
Ethylene glycol 100%
Formic acid 85-100%
Formic aldehyde 37%
Hydrazine hydrate 75-100%
Hydrogen peroxide 50%
Magnesium sulphate 100%
Nitric acid 56 - 58 %
Oxalic acid 99-100%
Perchloroethylene 99%
Phosphoric acid 85%
Potassium chloride 100%
Potassium hydroxide 90%
Potassium nitrate 99-100%
Sodium hydroxide 44-47%
Sodium hypochlorite solution 13-15%
Sodium nitrate 100%
Sodium nitrite 99%
Sodium persulphate 99%
Titanium oxide 95%
Toluene 100%
Triethylenetetramine 96 - 100 %
Mekp

and so on... Ask for prices and full list if you are intersted.

Bad idea.....

Organikum - 2-3-2005 at 13:40

Why is this a bad idea?

Jome - 2-3-2005 at 19:00

I think its an excellent idea. I've wondered lately how many chems that are OTC only a boat-trip away.

If you send the whole list via PM, that would kick ass...

Kman100 - 2-3-2005 at 19:05

Can you PM me a list too, please?

rift valley - 2-3-2005 at 19:38

Can you please PM a list

Reverend Necroticus Rex - 2-3-2005 at 19:56

I also would appreciate it if you could PM me a list:)

Keres - 3-3-2005 at 03:39

I am glad to see that you are interested.
And there are much letters in my inbox too...

Gimme few days, I have to call, and e.mail chem firms here to ask all prices and minimum amount you can buy. And ofcourse I"ll add my little % to those prices.

Hello again. I have the full list now. But its in estonian language. So I`ll translate it and upload tomorrow.
And btw, if someone can tell me what carrier to choose: DHL, UPS or TNT? We have those 3 in Estonia. UPS has that kind of thing that reciever will pay, when the goods are in his hands, and UPS then pays me. Something like that.
Anyway I have to check all these things out.
Btw, dudes from nearest countries can come here and buy directly from me. (sweden, finland and so on) you have my MSN. I can assure you that the prices are at least 10 times lower than in most EU countries. Some things has even 30 times lower price...
So tomorrow the full list then, and then ask for the prices, because it depends on the amount you buy and packaging...

Organikum - 4-3-2005 at 10:19

Use TNT whenever possible.

/ORG

Esplosivo - 4-3-2005 at 10:23

My opinion is the same as that of Organikum, TNT is best.

rift valley - 4-3-2005 at 10:52

I don't think that TNT is too popular over here in the states, I have never heard of it. For shipping across the Atlantic UPS would probably offer a lower price then DHL, but from my experience DHL is the better delievery service.

BTW this thread is a testament to what the war on drugs has caused home chemists to resort to.

I fixed it for you

There you go. Sigma-Aldrich, the other big suppliers, and the middlemen who resell from the big suppliers charge ridiculous prices for common chemicals. All of the chemicals Keres has offered so far are available in the US (home of the war on drugs), even to individuals. He's competing on price, not availability. If he can undercut other suppliers and simultaneously make a profit for himself, kudos to Keres!

rift valley - 4-3-2005 at 14:58

Sorry I just figured that most suppliers (Sigma, fischer, etc.) here didn't sell to individuals because they were worried about getting in trouble with the government if they were caught selling to someone who used the chemicals to make drugs/explosives. Cynmar most recently stopped selling chemicals to individuals on the first of this year.

Mumbles - 4-3-2005 at 17:45

To be fair, if you are able to buy from Fisher, Sigma, or the like, you do usually get a large discount. At the lab I worked at over the summer they got at least 25% off on all chemicals, and I think 35% on the supplies. Might be the other way around. As far as chemicals, they really don't buy much. They are attached to a rather major university, so I suppose that has something to do with it. My school though(much smaller) still get the same discount. I think I may actually use more chems than my school so I would probably be able to get the discount if I was a company or something.

I wonder how the US dollar holds up to a euro these days

JohnWW - 5-3-2005 at 20:17

Not very well at all. When it started a few years ago, the euro was floated at a 1:1 exchange rate against the $US. Now the exchange rate is about 1 euro to $US1.33.

And it will get much worse for the $US later this year, I am sure, when the Chinese and Japanese bankers who have been propping it up, by buying U.S. Treasury Bonds to cover Bu$h's unprecedented budget deficit and lending to cover the trade deficit, will decide that the U.S. Government cannot service any more debt, and "pull the plug".

Esplosivo - 5-3-2005 at 22:54

Could you include prices for the following:
Acetic acid, 'Glacial'
Ethylene Glycol 100%
Formic aldehyde (formalehyde) 37%
Hydrazine Sulphate
Lithium chloride

Thanks.

Organikum - 6-3-2005 at 08:20

Thats a decent list, very well, I will contact you the next days. :D

Keres - 6-3-2005 at 12:24

Hello again, I attached the chemlist.txt

I could not translate about 40 organic chemicals. but I will try. And if you cant find the chemical you want from the list, then just ask for it, then I can search the needed chemical separately.
And as you see there are only few prices because the firms will not give me the full pricelist. The prices vary little bit. If you want to know the exact price for the certain chemical, then pm or e-mail me.
The firms here say that if you buy with bigger amounts, then the prices will fall.
If you could not reach me with my old e-mail, then here is the new one: keres@hush.com (I had some problems with my old e-mail)

I have found a lower price for kno3 it`s in the chemlist now.

I found some chlorates aso, that is not in my list right now - I can get you almoust anything you`d like to get with good prices but the problem is still delivery!
TNT said to me that delivering 20kg of "sulphuric acid" from Estonia to London costs over 8000 est krons (smth 400 £) they said its dangerous delivery and thats why the price. It is surely CRAZY
DHL said that sulphuric acid over 51% is not allowed and seems that the sending price is the same.

I just asked for sulphuric acid because its very common and not very dangerous.

So maybe someone has an idea how to deliver cheaper or some other suggestions... :/
atm still getting the information out of UPS...

Blind Angel - 8-3-2005 at 13:27

I got a kinda similar supplier in North America (Québec) but the price aren't that low though. If anyone want some info i can give you the price that i have now so you can compare, he got pretty much anything.

Mephisto - 8-3-2005 at 13:50

I have no experience with international shipping. From transporting solvents within Germany I know, that it makes a big difference in price if you will transport one 20 l unit or a package with the same stuff in four 5 l units. That's probably because the risk of small broken units is much smaller, than of big ones and it's unlikely that all small units in a package get broken. So maybe the price for 4 x 5 l sulfuric acid will be much smaller.

saps - 8-3-2005 at 17:48

do you have any calcium oxide, sodium oxide, or magnesium oxide?

Keres - 11-3-2005 at 12:03

I think i have. But thats not the problem, the problem is still delivery. For example DHL asks now 300EUR to send 50kg from estonia to england
its is crazy price

TPL - 14-3-2005 at 08:05

How about shipping to Denmark? Could you ask, 5,10,15 kg?

Also maybe you should only ship to countries, where plane or boat isn't neccecary..

Keres - 14-3-2005 at 09:59

yes, maybe.

But now I have found a big list of transport firms in est. One has the price only 200eur of delivering 1000kg or 1m3. And they deliver all around europe. Gotta find out who delivers in smaller packages...
The list is big. Takes 1-2 days to ask by phone and e-mail. Then I hope that the transport problem is solved.

Found few ones: about 70eur for sending to holland 50kg
Same price to germany.

[Edited on 15-3-2005 by Keres]

Keres - 17-3-2005 at 21:55

Now the transport problem is solved. About 75EUR for sending stuff like fertilizers and +50 EUR if there are some so called "dangerous" stuff also. They call all acids dangerous. And its the price for 30-100kg.
740kg is 200 EUR.
It depends on the country you live in.

Now I can send to: Holland, Sweden, Finland, Germany, UK, Denmark and other eur countries.

Its better if someone want to order more chems (with friends or smth) because transport costs.

I know that so many of you have asked the prices, usually for 1kg or so and some still waiting the pricelist. But there is no point for me and you sending this 1kg. And ordering some 25kg-600kg is much cheaper. So gather your friends and I can send 600kg almoust anything.

Ahh, good. Never knew where to get chemicals in here Estonia : )

You have posted prices to foreign countries. What about inside Estonia? Is it the usual 35 EEK or extra for hazardous? Not familiar with posting really :P'

And where is the warehouse? Is it possible to come and pick up myself some less hazardous things? (Should be near Tallinn, as I'm residing in Viimsi)
