silver carbonate

How long does it take for a solution of silver carbonate to take on it's color. Is there actually a delay or is my information wrong?

Well I've made silver carbonate by combining solutions of silver nitrate and potassium carbonate, and precipitation is instant. It starts off a light tan color, then over several minutes it darkens to light brown. Due to light sensitivity, I'm sure.
