time

I've been pondering latley of the orgins of time. Time had to start somewhere like everything else right? But time is forever, so how does it have a starting point? And what was there before time itself even existed? So the question is, when did time itself begin?

I hardly think a question of Time belongs in the chemistry area, BUT a lot of chemistry uses rates of change...

But why does "time" have to start? how can you even ask this question about something you can hardly describe the properties of? I am sure you could name a few observed characteristics, but can you describe its properties? Could time be something we can't even comprehend at this point in ... time? haha...
