Hi! I was looking for a way to synthesise Molybdenum (II) salts that doesn't require high temperatures, high pressures or toxic and volatile
chemicals... specifically I'm looking to synthesis Molybdenum (II) acetate but so far the only method I've found involves toxic Mo(CO)6... I would use
that method, but I don't have any experience working with metal carbonyls.
I have access to powdered molybdenum metal and tons of molybdenum trioxide.
Any ideas on this? Or any comment about working with metal carbonyls?

Though, still. Does anyone have worked with metal carbonyls before? I can always check literature for procedures and everything but still I would like
to hear if someone could share their experience on this.

I have worked with them, but only in professional (or near-professional) labs. And that was a long time ago.
