(Do you know what it is?)

Yep.

It's an expression of reality without using Time.

Haha, saw this video a couple of years ago and tricked a good portion of my math class, spurring some vigorous debate. The rectangle comment made me realize the first time I watched it hehe. Love watching Vihart's other videos too!

There really is no other number quite like Wau :)

Wait a minute: a basic understanding of limits helps a lot.

Isn't Wau just 1?

At 2:41 she writes:

e2π i = Wau

Euler’s Identity says eπ i + 1 = 0

→ eπ i = - 1

Square both sides:

(eπ i;)2 = (-1)2

→ e2π i = 1 = Wau

There are of course other, more basic ways to show that.

I just watched the continued fraction bit at the beginning before I facepalmed, not the whole video. It started getting repetitive after a while (listing lots of stuff equal to 1).

It would probably confuse the hell out of a low-level math class, though.

It's the Greek number 6.

I don't know where all the other wow factor comes in.:)

Huh?

He googoled for the answer.

Learning is learning. I don't care if he asked Jesus.

If you all could please explain what the meaning of Wau in this context is, I'd sure like to learn.

Wau is a nice, jokey hoax. It is simply the number 1, rewritten in a(n) intriguing form(s).

That explains also the 'interesting' properties like Wau to the power Wau to the power Wau - etc ad infinitum = Wau

Zombie - 6-5-2015 at 08:18

I kind of thought that.

I could say vou to vou is vou,

I didn't see where there was anything to base the idea on because I assumed Wau was 6 so it made no sense.
