Carbon Disulfide needed

bolbol - 21-4-2016 at 09:44

I need around 150-200 mls of this solvent and I was wondering if anyone has access to it.

I live in the states by the way. Please reply to this or pm me.

Thanks

If you explain your situation we might be able to help you find an alternative that might be readily available to you. Otherwise, a member might be gracious enough to provide you with what you need.

Most of the time there are alternative solvents, especially since everything seems to have gone green these days, and by green, I really mean $$$.

I am looking for something that will dissolve Realgar/pararealgar which is a Arsenic-Sulfur Compound. I wanna make a crystal bed by allowing it to precipitate over a bed of some other white mineral. The publication that I found said that in their experiments they used CS2 to dissolve the Realgar. I am not too familiar with nonpolar solvents and the variety of chemicals they dissolve. All I know is that Hydrocarbon non polar solvents(Toluene, Benzene, etc) dissolve organic hydrocarbons (oils, fats, etc)
