Please guys, can you give me some links for full procedure of alpha-aminoacid synthesis? I canĀ“t find anything about synthesis through alpha-haloacids.

One of the common methods is Strecker synthesis, whereby an aldehyde is treated with an ammonia source and alkali cyanide salt to afford the alpha-amino nitrile, which is then hydrolised to the alpha-amino acid. The intermediate a-aminonitrile may also useful for further elaboration.

Two methods are given herein. Seems to me, in most cases, yields are better.....utilizing alpha-BROMO-acids.

The Strecker synthesi is the classical approach, but you need a cyanide salt.
