Lawn Dye

zico10 - 7-11-2006 at 22:27

I was wondering if there was any substance I could SAFELY mix into my sprinkler system to dye my lawn a fun color (i.e. not green). Any help is greatly appreciated

FDA approved food coloring?

Mind that it's going to be some color involving green, which is a secondary color. That doesn't leave much flexibility beyond "ugly".

That sounds like exactly what I need! I'll give it a try. Thanks dapper

IIRC methylene blue may be a carcinogen. Using it in large quantities, coloring a lawn does not sound like a smart thing to me.

hmm....yeah, i wouldn't want that. i guess i'll just keep looking. thanks!

Wouldnt that kill your lawn, making it hard for the grass to do photosynthesis?

If you dont care, just spray paint your lawn :)

The do make a blue dye specifically for this purpose.

You can find it in big ag supply stores, its used as an alternative to foam markers so you can see where your spray rig has been.
