Hi
so i have some Lindane and since i cannot dispose it into the environemnt because its toxic to the ecosystem i was wondering if i could reflux it with sodium hydroxide to make inositol with it.

I think the likely product is 1,3,5-trichlorobenzene. Sodium acetate may give hexaacetoxycyclohexane. Orgsyn used sodium formate to hydrolyse chloroacetone to acetol IIRC.
