Ammonia Solution

itsafreecountry? - 17-1-2007 at 14:43

Here in the great state of California, I have not been able to find the typical ~10% clear ammonia solution anywhere (Walmart, markets, etc.). All I see is that yellow, sudsy ammonia garbage that probably has a very small NH3 concentration.

Has anyone else noticed this where they live?

the "ammonia gas generator" is an active thread that could have handled your plight.....

yes you can reach the end of the matrix rather fast even in a free land......

so start buying the yellow suddsy stuff... one every other day from various stores...
then pour it all into a large 30 gallon plastic trash can.. then dump in some base and have a hose coming out the top....

You might try a janitorial supply store. I suspect the reason that we're not seeing it as often has a lot to do with perfumed variants that most people prefer to purchase.

I get mine from Ace Hardware for about 4 bucks a gallon

I was able to recently purchase some from Vons.

I can't get the 10% either, but at least shoprite (I don't now what area the chain exists in) sells a clear ammonia as a cheap store brand. It's as pitifully dilute as the yellow stuff, but theres no surfactacants, scents, or coloring in it.
