'Invisible sodium' effect using nitric acid

Today I accidentally made 'invisible sodium' similar to thoisoi2's video, but using dilute 2M nitric acid. I did this multiple times but got the best effect when the nitric acid is cold and the sodium sphere is tiny(around 1 mm diameter)

I'm still convinced it's sodium oxide/hydroxide jumping about on the surface due to the leidenfrost effect.
