slow server response

Rosco Bodine - 10-4-2007 at 15:58

Anybody else getting sluggish page loading ?

There is definitely a bandwidth bottleneck from late afternoon to mid evening when the forum response slows to a crawl . Two days in a row now .

Maybe other traffic on the same server is starving the
bandwidth during peak hours .

The slowdown is a real problem now , makes the forum virtually unusable , as a page takes five minutes to load ......and I am on a broadband connection . Something is starving all the bandwidth .

How about the response speed for other members , are you all getting the same thing ?

Wow , in the last couple of minutes the problem disappeared .......and it seems normal again .

Prob just high network traffic in your area at that time.

The server response problem has returned since this
mornings encoding problem was fixed , but the problem is different now and seems to be more specific .

When a topic category on the index page is clicked ,
sometimes nothing happens , and it takes several
clicks to get the selected section to load . It will start
to load the page showing the different threads at a crawl
and then clicking on it again it will suddenly speedup
and finish the page loading .....but it is taking five or six clicks to get it done . Away from the index page the response seems more normal .

I'm experiencing serious lag with the https version of the site, too.

Yeah it definitely is just a problem on the https connection .

I just checked the http connection and the response is snappy there .
