Hoffman rearrangement halogen trend

I noticed with this reaction, only hypochlorite and hypobromite are used. What of hypoiodite? Whats the difference between using I or Br or Cl? or is there no difference? I just found it interesting if I could just use I2 to prepare hypoiodite solution without handling Bromine or chlorine. I understand bleach could be used but I want to try a different approach.

I am sure I have seen YT videos on production of iodoform via the Hoffman reaction. I have never done it but I did not think there was any particular difficulty. Happy for someone to correct me.

Isn't the haloform reaction different ? I don't see why it wouldn't work, thought I go on here before attempting :))

You are right. My bad. I was conflating two things in some weird variant of a brain-fart.
