Fireworks shows, no salutes without stars 7-4-2018

Did anyone else notice that this year professional fireworks shows did not have any of those stand alone salutes ?

I really did not notice till the grand finales. Maybe they got rid of them, whats next LED 'fireworks' shows ?

One my local news there was a veteran who gets quite stressed from fireworks, kind of sad to hear his story. Found this link from another part of the U.S. Funny how the mind learns and can't reset so easily.

"Italian fireworks company, Setti Fireworks, specialises in making customised silent fireworks, and while they may lack the explosive sounds we traditionally expect from fireworks, they retain all of the stunning colours and impressive visual displays that illuminate the skies."

And this tidbit of irony ...

Well you can sort of see a need for heading in the direction of quieter fireworks, let alone the drawbacks of fire hazards, animal tremble and terror, and a city not know for clean air. The last show I went to ended with a terrific bomb-bang effect.

Lol, I know all about this, I live in Los Angeles! The bright side is that you can watch the fireworks from your back porch or your front. It started this year about 2 hours before sunset and went until after midnight.

What is interesting, is that there were fireworks going off just as much every time Mexico won a game in the World Cup during past two weeks. Everyone's car alarms were going off at 9 in the morning, and it sounded like a war zone.

I was seriously wondering the other day what the emergency rooms might look like in the area.

Local Firework displays 'No Douchey Veteran' sign on lawn for July 4th celebration https://www.duffelblog.com/2018/07/local-firework-displays-n...

I don't think the majority of vets that went to fight for our freedom PTSD or not want celebrating our national holiday the traditional way criminalized. The person who did this must be a vet themselves. My guess.

I don't want to appear to be one of those "Douchy Veterans", but fireworks do wreak havoc on some family pets.
(My moms dog used to hide in the bathtub.)

For myself, I've mentally prepared myself for the noise, so it doesn't really bother me. YMMV.

TBH, the largest fear I have is fireworks placed in the hands of people who are not properly trained in their safe use.
Couple this with alcohol and possibly drugs, and all manner of mayhem can break loose.

Just about every July 4th you hear reports on the news of houses being set on fire.

As far as forcing pyrotechnics people to use mixtures sans report, It just wouldn't be the same.
The reports are part of a choreographed show. Removing them would detract from the beauty of these fireworks shows.
