Why did you delete my latest post?

Why did you delete my this morning post regarding SM board and spam?

It did show up in the thread "Forum Matters" 7 hours ago but now it's gone.

I think there was nothing offensive or negative in my writing so I'm not sure why the deletion. Could someone please explain?

I saw it moved into whimsy.

Sorry. Merged two threads on same theme.
I did not anicipate it would cause problems.

The current spam flood is annoying. It looks like botkilla has crashed.

As for your suggestion, we did have registration closed for a few days a couple of months back. The spam halted. But it was untenable.

Thanks j_sum1 and fusso.

At first I checked "Detritus" (I'm not a born optimist am I?) but there was nothing. Then I checked my statistics and it said something along the lines as "post count 251, latest post in the PCl5 thread several weeks ago". So it did caused confusion.

When I wanted to check fusso's link I had to re-login again (although I was logged in when done this) and then I got a message that "Sorry, you are not allowed to watch this section of the board" - or something like that.

Is Whimsy a similarly protected area of this board as the References thread?

Btw I can't even see "Whimsy" listed under "Forum Matters" or in other places in my browser. I do remember that I could see and click on the "References" section before I requested access to that part so it is another surprise for me. :-)

Your double log in is probably related to the difference between http and https: if you log in with one and follow a link with the other, you won't appear logged in.

Whimsy should be visible, but it is non searchable by Google and access is restricted. You can ask woelen to let you in.

I will put the thread in FM so that you can see it. I don't think it absolutely needs to be in Whimsy.
