Mysterious liquid from parrafin wax

Hi, I was remelting some parrafin wax and accidentally let it boil for a while. After I cast it I put it into the freezer. It completely solidified and After It sat for a while at room tempature it started to leak an oil. Could this be a shorter chain hydrocarbon from the decomposition of parrafin?

Thanks,

Jackson

This phenomenon is known as syneresis. I would assume it's probably just shorter alkanes.
