I just bought 8 boss head clamps https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/8x-LAB-STAND-BOSS-HEAD-Clamp-Hold...
they arrived today so I can only give a cursory review;
they take up to 18mm diameter rods, my 10mm and 14mm rods are held tightly.
The body is nominally aluminium alloy and it bends much less than the zinc alloy types when tightening.
They 'feel' OK

Like I wrote, I have not tested these in long term use but at £12.73 incl.international p&p for eight
I thought I'd mention this them whilst available at this price.

If you're in the UK, Rapid Electronics will sell you them in packs of 5 for just over a pound each.

That type of boss head is even cheaper via eBay,
they are zinc alloy and smaller than the ones that I pointed to, and definitely not as strong.
