You sure about the use of DU in yacht keels? Isn't it a bit too much a 'restricted material' for that kind of use? Or do the guys from the 'America Cup' get an exemption?

I have heard about it being used in the keels of racing yachts, for ballast but occupying much less volume than the same weight of Pb, and it being mooted at one stage for America's Cup yachts. However, I think that the America's Cup rules have been amended to prohibit the use in its races of anything heavier than Pb.

i never heard of using u as phosphor.i believe because of radioactivity although weak and poisonous nature of its dust like lead,they avoid using it in household applications.they may use it for bullets in army as they don`t care about their enemies but they are tough even in using lead traces in children toys let alone beta emiters like U even very weak
