Brass
Well by accident I have got a polarimeter too, not so old and not so shiny (but only for the reasons it is factory painted black and nickel coated,
the metal is solid brass under that).
Have to figure out yet how to get to the tube. Anybody who has a manual for a Hartnack Polarimeter around?

I got a nice saccharimeter on top of the glass case which contains two refractometers, etc. A polarimeter is shown on the top shelf next to a
spectrometer and cork borer. Another polarimeter is shown in front the analyical balance. I also have a Kipp gas generator.

That's a fine collection Vogelzang. I tend to be more utilitarian in a
swiss army knife approach to instrumentalities. I do have a weakness
for brass microscopes though. One can simply screw on modern
objectives and they work as well as any comparable modern one.

Yep, I've seen those on Ebay. I got the Valentine and one of the Bausch & Lomb (center of the picture) refractometers on Ebay, and the B&L
