The worst type of spam is....
to what left of my mind. Are the "Oh-boo-hooo" someone
posted something I don't want read/find interesting/
relevant replies.
Ok. But why bother everyone else with your personal problem?
Some here seem to have a high level of entitlement (in my youth
we would call them spoiled), they feel that the only thing
worth posting is — is of personal interest. Presumable they don't
read newspapers - they may find articles they don't like, watch
TV - read books - listen to the radio - &c., &c.
Ad hominem attacks are an attack on group etiquette.

While you certainly have a point on the 'spoiled ones', it stops being a personal problem when too many objections arrive through the 'report post'
option.
Of course all of us welcome different insights from a variety of perspectives - indeed this is what the forum is about (!!)- however, let's keep the
posts
-focused
-threaded by subject
-relevant to the topic at hand
-language clear and to the point
-civil
and avoid them being
-random, with <1% relevance to the subject at hand
-repetitive
-needlessly argumentative
-factually incorrect (obviously)
-unclear, or waffly
These are general guidelines, and really apply to anyone here...
In the meantime ... welcome and have fun!

I remeber back in the rouge and hive days ......
so many new mods damb I wonder were all those stars came from.
who cares whats posted so long as it does not hurt the future of the site and its about
science.
after all there are so many different types here, dont you remeber the flames that were flying a couple of
years ago.
if ex cops of the planet can leave the bee's alone (ye it took a bit but things are good) then why can't
some one have a different interest in science than your self
this is not such a theamed site as you may think. it was origonaly for some of the more gifted on
two other sites to talk with out having there posts trodden on by noobs.
I find The Wizard is in to be quite well informed though the name grates on me a little as I know wizard
through other sites.
personaly if your reporting his posts through the report button I think you need to take a look at what you
realy think is bad and offencive.
I have never reported a post and never will.
if the post is of danger to the site I tell a mod and it is deleted on the spot and always has been.
why play dog games.

Great fleas have little fleas upon their backs to bite 'em,
And little fleas have lesser fleas, and so ad infinitum.
And the great fleas themselves, in turn, have greater fleas to go on,
While these again have greater still, and greater still, and so on.

They've done some research into aluminum foil helmets at MIT.
Quote: |
Among a fringe community of paranoids, aluminum helmets serve as the protective measure of choice against invasive radio signals. We investigate the
efficacy of three aluminum helmet designs on a sample group of four individuals. Using a $250,000 network analyser, we find that although on average
all helmets attenuate invasive radio frequencies in either directions (either emanating from an outside source, or emanating from the cranium of the
subject), certain frequencies are in fact greatly amplified. These amplified frequencies coincide with radio bands reserved for government use
according to the Federal Communication Commission (FCC). Statistical evidence suggests the use of helmets may in fact enhance the government's
invasive abilities. We speculate that the government may in fact have started the helmet craze for this reason.
