The hydride is a very strong base and a pretty good nucleophile. It will react with alcohols, possibly also primary and secondary amine, and probably
also ketones. I can see it either reducing acetone to calcium isopropoxide, or deprotonating it and starting a Claisen condensation (and that's
assuming the acetone is dry, and not 5% water like most of it). If you're trying to make calcium perchlorate, there must be an easier way.

Stereochemistry after a Suzuki reaction?
I am wondering that if we react e.g. a trans-cyclohexyl-2phenyl-boronic acid with a custom halide, let say bromobenzene, with Suzuki conditions, than
will the cyclohexane ring keep it's trans stereochemistry for its two substituent?

Does anyone know where to purchase a bit of fine gold wire? I´m looking for 0.03-0.05mm diameter at a lenght of about 1-2m.

Pretty much any jewelry supplier will be able to get that for you. They should have it in an appropriate diameter, also, given how
readily gold passes through a draw plate.

The standard setup is graphite anode with copper cathode. Are you looking to use the wire as the anode, cathode, or both?
