well you like chemistry more than your peers. i'm studying chemistry at university and not many people show real passion for the subject, they may like it, but not have a passion.
just do what you like, eventually you'll find someone that you can connect with

I deleted original post because I was on drugs while typing it out. ANd someone pointed out that i cant claim to love chemistry when i still cant understand the redox reaction going on in the reaciton between sodium hypochlorite and hydrochloric acid

Most reactions I do not know, therefore do not understand.
Understanding has nothing to do with love.
I have loved a few women, never have I understood one.

I love working in the lab, the procedures and observing transformation of matter.

But chemistry as a science is... interesting. I would not say I love it, it's an ever increasing, powerful theoretical basis.

I am trying not to spend all days in my lab, focusing on just one project. This way it's not isolating at all.

I can't however explain an interesting reaction to people because for them I am talking gibberish. I should learn more to talk in layman terms and it would be better.

Sorry, I'm only dragging this up to say that I just saw it for the first time, and am sending it to Detritus since the OP was deleted and there doesn't seem to be much of value here. If anyone wants to have a new discussion about "chemical spirituality" or whatever, please start a new thread in Whimsy.
