Renewing old burette markings
Anyone tried to renew old and hardly visible markings on a burette or similar glassware?
I have difficulty determining the volume that the meniscus of water clear solutions in the burette show because the markings are so badly ruined.
Especially in the region what I seem to use most (first 5 millilitres). 
(Overwriting with black permanent ink is not good. It makes the meniscus almost invisible.)
I'm thinking about some sort of ink which sticks in the grooves of the markings but could be easily removed from the smooth glass surface between
those grooves.
Ideas?

I had similar problems with cheap thermometers.
Permanent markers tend to be dyes dissolved in a solvent.
Some marks are printed on but If you do have grooves I would think you need a black paint meaning something that contains insoluble black fine
particles that will get trapped in the grooves or trapped in a rough surface but can be wiped from the smooth surface.
I am wg48 but not on my usual pc hence the temp handle.
Thank goodness for Fleming and the fungi.

I don't know who invented mRNA vaccines but they should get a fancy medal and I hope they made a shed load of money from it.

Black permanent marker pen then a scrub with a dry sponge worked for me.
