Not the first time, and certainly won't be the last in Asian countries. I believe the reason for this is that these chemical products have only
recently been in use in these countries, and so they aren't as accepted by society compared to the west. For example, I'd wager paint thinner can be
found in a large proportion of households in the US and UK. However, in places like China you would only find it in the home of a painter. This leads
to the idea that "normal people" shouldn't be allowed to have these products because they are too "dangerous", which leads to absurd regulations to be
put into place. In China for example, you could be put in jail for 15 days if you are found with paint thinner or gasoline.

Did you not comprehend his response. If you are in a business that requires or a citizen that needs, well maybe no problem.
Read again and reconsider your response.
You are simply pissing in the wind.

This is why I established a company. Tired of buying overpriced, diluted and impure, tricked and tainted reagents in small cans when I can get 99%
stuff in 25L cans for a little price delivered to my door with no questions. And private restrictions like H2O2 limit does not apply to companies.
Fun fact: private citizens are hardly allowed to possess single shot hunting weapons, but a company can get licenses for fully automatic weapons quite
easily actually.

What am I missing here? These are exactly the normal linds of items I would expect in a hardware store (along with chainsaws and lawnmowers which are
even more dangerous.)
What is the justification for the raid?

I expect the same thing, I do worry that in the future it may come down to showing working need or professional need to acquire these simple things. A
pretty good reason for us to brush on our inorganic chemistry to be able to have these things in the future.
