Which Pump to use to Circulate Hot Oil into Jacketed Vessels?
I got a 500ml jacketed reactor and plan to do some reactions which require
me to heat it up to 120C.
-which oil is recommended for this application?
oil should be suitable for cooling and heating.
-which pump is recommended to pump the hot oil through the jacketed reactor?
there are oil car pumps out there but... can they handle 120C hot oil over several hours?
obviously not the usual plastic aquarium pump.
-which tube to use, I saw lab shops selling reinforced steel tubes but there are a million variations...

I'd guess an auto parts pump is probably right, handles heat at least just change out any parts (rubber hoses) that won't take non polar stuff like
oil with metal tubing or something

I'm pretty sure that most car engines run hotter than 120C, so you should be able to find a hose material for oil that is rated for that. The pump
needs to rated for that temp, but at least the oil will lubricate it, so it should last a long time.
A metal pump for oil might require a separate motor and pulley if designed for a car, but should work. The flow does not have to be huge, so slow is
fine.
