The only electrodes I can think of which aren't metal are graphite, and those erode quite fast. At least when making bromine from bromide. I never
went further than what I needed to get enough bromate to get all to oxidize to bromine after adding acid though. I can imagine they will tarnish
faster when there is less bromide in solution.
