It's interesting that it's so easy to decarboxylate the intermediate carboxylic acid simply by heating!

This process is well known.

Highly illegal in the jurisdictions where most of us live.

Such Nitriles may be used for other synthesis, but hydrolysis is not an uncommon goal.

Acquisition of this nitrile legally, is unlikely.

You might find a company in China willing to supply it, but you might also have to purchase a huge amount.

That would kind of make it an organized crime project.

These procedures or based on lab work originally published long ago.
