Nitric & Acetic Acid Mix, Advantages and Disadvantages

Are there people here who use / have used a mix of nitric and acetic acid?

It is used, for instance, as one way to prepare palladium acetate (an interesting acetate which tends to polymerise).

What are the advantages and disadvantages of this compared to either acid alone, or to the more commonly used acetic + peracetic acid mix?

One advantage I see compared to acetic alone (+ Air / O2) is that it confers greater oxidative abilities to the mixed acid.

An obvious disadvantage I can see is dealing with a somewhat heterogeneous product and later being left with traces of either acid.

I think its worthwhile to get some peracetic, some otc laundry product has it as a bleach/disinfectant it must be a pain to remove all the traces of mixed palladium nitrate/acetate and the nitrate is detrimental to most of the reactions requiring the acetate

Shouldn't you have put this question in the topic where you were trying to find a solution to dissolve all metals? And shouldn't you have put it in beginnings?
