JEE (Mains+Advanced) 2026

Hi guys,
I'm a JEE Aspirant (JEE = Joint Entrance Examination).

I guess this is not a forum to discuss exam related stuff but still I wanted to get this topic here because I'm going to give the world's second toughest exam which tests the student's Math, Physics and Chemistry skills in a different level check the previous question papers(of jee Advanced, toughest one is 2016 paper) yourself it's available on the internet.

Jee mains consists of 75 questions and 3 hours and +4 for correct -1 for wrong ones. Top 250000 make it to Jee Advanced and top 17000 in Jee Advanced make it into IIT's.

Jee advanced consists of 2 papers on same day 3 hrs each and students prepare for this from young age itself.
Total marks for Advanced exam is known only when you sit for the exam.

Anyone please give this guy some suggestions (please see the syllabus and some Previous q. papers before answering).

My Jee mains is on jan 2026 and if I get qualified I can write Jee Advanced in May 2026.

For the Mathematics part you may give a look at Schaum's Outline of Advanced Calculus.

Yung-Kuo Lim (or was it the other way around) edited some books on Major US Colleges Qualifying Exams for PhD or something like that. These books present Physics problems and solutions.

I have nothing to add about Chemistry because I was more interested in Mathematics and Physics at college.

@bnull I respect your suggestion, but difficulty level is way different.

You didn't consult those books, did you? The Mathematics part is the kind of stuff that you'd find in Schaum's (at least in the 1963 edition I have; I don't know if they have grown soft since then). Same for the Physics part and the Major American Universities Ph.D. Qualifying Questions and Solutions books edited by Lim, which you can find in a library or somewhere else.

For those interested, the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur has made the Past Question Papers available here: https://jeeadv.ac.in/archive.html.

@bnull the American PHD books are only a bit useful for Jee cuz they have different syllabus.

Jee Advance is a very hard and lengthy paper.
