Silner Nitrate Yield

I'm looking to make silver nitrate for the purpose of making Ag double salt (Ag2C2/AgNO3). What I have is sterling silver, rather than 99.99%. I read somewhere that if your solution contains copper, the acetylene gas won't react with the copper ions and you still get the Ag double salt you desire. My question is how much AgNO3 will I get per gram of sterling silver I dissolve in 70% HNO3. I thank you for your assistance in this matter.

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean everybody isn't out to get you.

Thats are quite easy calculations.
Check the atomic mass of silver, divide the gram (take in account the actual percent of silver in the alloy) by that amount and find out how many moles of it you have in 1 gram. Then calculate the molar weight of silver nitrate and multiply it by the amount of silver moles you have in 1 gram of sterling ilver
