reductions with samarium ioidide

Hi everyone i am going to do a reduction of nitromethane with samarium iodide reaction mechanism ch3no2 + smI2 +h20+et3N =CH3NH2 this single electron reduction of nitro compounds has the advantage of being fairly non toxic with fast reaction time at room temperature .
The strenth of this reducing agent is stronger when used in more polar solvents and can be used on many different functional groups including a.b nitroalkenes reduced directly to amines or just to the oxime if needed depending on the amount of the reducing agent used.
I think the limiting factor would be the cost of samarium iodide.
Has any member used this reducing agent that can provide an input to this reaction.I have provided some information in the folowing file.:P

regards azo
