The coating is not plastic, it's a water-based varnish (<a href="http://youtu.be/JyumWUg_MXM?t=3m37s" target="_blank">ref.</a> <img src="../scipics/_yt.png" />;). It contains no bisphenol A&mdash;as far as I'm aware&mdash;which is (was) used as a plasticizer in some consumer products.

Interesting. I was wrong. Thanks for finding that. Yet another reason why I'm glad I don't drink soda. Regardless, it (the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endocrine_disruptor#Bisphenol_A_.28BPA.29" target="_blank">endocrine disruptor bisphenol A</a> <img src="../scipics/_ext.png" />;) <em>may be</em> less of a direct threat overall than the artificial sweeteners and the proprietary coloring additives in the drink itself.

when you enjoy an Al soda cans. you get a lot of Al in your brain

The inside of a soda can is coated with plastic (however, this may not be any healthier, depending on whether it has estrogen mimicking chemicals, such as BPA).

the last can opened are coated only in the walls, the rest no.

Amusingly, I met a woman who helped discover the effects of bisphenol A at a conference. Her name escapes me at the moment, but when asked, she said she still microwaves her child's plastic baby bottle with milk and did not think the in vivo effects were significant. She probably knows among the most on the subject of anyone in the world. Obviously she may not be correct, and I avoid the stuff when possible.

Well perhaps if this is the case it comes to some sort of predisiposition?
I ,like Peach, have amalgam dental work and a great deal more than Peach.Literally a whole mouthful that has been in place for 30 years plus. Haven't had any significant health issues (yet).

There can be a big difference between bioavailabilities between inhalational and ingestional routes of administration, and the two are not necessarily comparable, though this is ligand dependent. Any metal shaving inhalation is a health (including carcinogenic) risk. As a general rule, localization can also have effects depending on tissue specific receptor or enzyme expression, which is largely why substances can be acutely toxic to specific organs, though vascularization is typically required to get dosages above toxicity threshold.

He obviously did not follow the link in my post that he was responding to, and didn't know that I was having a little joke...except for the moment of silence part...and it's the typical death from amalgam that I was referring to...

Agree about most Naturopaths; they usually aren't first rate. Ear-candling however, seems to work. As do many other remedies. Before Antibiotics, some of this stuff was the only game in town. Now, in the impending post antibiotic era,
old time treatments may re-emerge. And, via the Eastern Europeans, Phages may come into vogue.

HHMI is slowly focusing massive resources in this area as well, particularly for TB.
