masses of brown glass bottles!

hi everyone,
Today I bought all these glass bottles yesterday from an art restorer for 60 dollars!
they were filthy and terribly labelled, so at home I cleaned them all with acetone, filtered and labelled them correctly.
in total I bought: 7x 2,5L bottles and 15x 1L bottles. (1 of each missing)
some of the bottles had solvents and alcohols in them
300ml Isopropanol
700ml diethylformamide (smells like fish and i have no use for it, may just give it back to the fish :D, just kidding :P)
600ml acetone
2L ethanol 99%
500ml methanol
500ml methyl ethyl ketone
500ml 80% acetic acid
300ml toluene
the rest were empties.
I have now labelled them. like the labels? :D

Wow! Nice find!

You can never have too many bottles...are they all made of glass? What would have been in all of them originally, or just more of the above solvents?

all the above solvents were in the original bottles, the others contained things like THF!! 2,5 litre bottles of it!
i washed out the empties and let them dry by the heater, got a little high i think :P
like the labels?

very nice bottles! And the labels you made, very good! If you don't mind, I'm going to use them with some modification for my labels. thanks again.

what you do is copy them on adhesive A4 paper, that way you don't need to fool around with tape

shit!!! I left a full 2,5L bottle full of lacquer that I hadn't transferred to a different container outside, and the sun hit it and it exploded! it literally exploded! there were shards of glass everywhere, and 2,5L of lacquer was lying on deck, slowly trickling into the water!
that's a real pity.
