Odd ratio, help?

A paper is suggesting column chromatography:
"...(Silica gel, 230-400 mesh, Et2O/pentane, 1:4 to Et2O, and MeOH/Et2O, 1:20)..."

Does this make sense to anyone. Is it saying it started with Et2O/pentane (1:4) and then went to Et2O, and then went to MeOH/Et2O 1:20?

And Hexanes/pentane is probably interchangeable for this purpose, right? Not much of a difference there I'm assuming.
