Topical Compendium, Mk. II

So, the passing of bfesser also came with the deletion of the Topical Compendium, a compilation of the most useful topics towards particular subjects. Unfortunately, I don't remember most (if not all) of the contents of the TC, and no one else seems to be making a new one.
So, I'm putting this out there for forum members to contribute the best topics towards what will eventually be the second Topical Compendium. So far, I really don't have much, so I'll be adding a lot of new stuff too.
A note: I will also be putting select YouTube videos on here. If you want your video taken off the list for any reason, let me know.

I downloaded a backup of the forum not long ago. I will find it on my PC and see if it contains the TC.

If befeser did that kind of damage when he left, then it must be looked at long and hard before handing the keys to the castle to anyone else.

I had no Idea it was gone until this thread... If ever I should want to leave I certainly will not take away any meaningful things I have done to benefit the site.

That would be all kinds of helpful.

@hyfalcon: Are you implying that I would do the same upon leaving ScienceMadness? I'm confused.

Also, let's not jump to conclusions as to why TC mark I was deleted, and instead make the focus of this thread on making a better one.

I said what I meant. If I thought you would do the same I would have said as much. Don't put words into my mouth.

I'm not 'putting words into your mouth', I'm confused as to your meaning. What keys, what castle and why?

Post a topic on here that you'd like to see in the compendium. For example:
"I think this should be on here. http://www.sciencemadness.org/talk/viewthread.php?tid=17362"

Zyklonb, the link for lithium is broken.

Here's one for scandium:

Two for neodymium:
https://www.sciencemadness.org/whisper/viewthread.php?tid=14...
http://www.sciencemadness.org/talk/viewthread.php?tid=24851

And two for terbium:

At the end of the day, simulating atoms doesn't beat working with the real things...

A note on the one for scandium: It's not really a discussion of the chemistry of scandium so much as a discussion of a homework question about scandium. Should it be put in anyway, since we have no other topics about scandium chemistry?
Added the ones for Tb, Nd, F2, O2, N2, and B.

The scandium one might as well stay for now, since we don't really have anything else to put there. If something else opens up that's more useful it can always be replaced. That way, there will at least be something there if somebody goes looking for information about scandium.

My computer is being hard headed with the backup. It can be downloaded from the last post on this page though. The last backup was February 6 I believe so the TC should be in there

Original Topical Compendium Posts

I opened up the most recent backup of the Sciencemadness site and grabbed the original topical compendium posts. There are two in the attached archive. All that needs to done is to copy and past the text into a new post. It's best if an administrator does it so they can be edited as time goes by. If no one wants to do it then I can.

EDIT: Shoot. This is way better than my old one. Problem is, I don't know this method of coding, so I'm rather flummoxed on how to insert new links!

Note: This compendium does not include topics in <strong><a href="forumdisplay.php?fid=3">Energetic Materials</a></strong> (EM). Another compendium, specific to EM, is in the works. Please be patient.

He's coded his post using html. It's easy enough to edit, you just have to have knowledge in html and take some care not to make a mess.

The topical compendium represents many hours of work and it would be a real shame to let it go to waste. The guy who did it obviously has mental problems of the type "if I can't have it then no one can". Well bad luck. It was saved with the site backup (just in time).

Like I hinted at before, this work should be made a sticky and edited on an ongoing basis. That's something only a moderator can do (I think).

Well let's not immediately jump to the conclusion that bfesser had "mental problems." It's pretty harsh to throw that around with only circumstantial evidence. While it's unlikely, it could have just been some kind of accident.

Hooray!

I have met bfesser in person (a few months ago; he lives about 10 miles from me), and, although he is most definitely not socially normal (as many of us, including myself, are not), I don't think he has mental problems. He probably just underestimated the value of his work.

As below, so above.

I have begun to move the Topical Compendium to the wiki, as I thought that it would be a better place for it to reside long term, and be easier for everyone to add to it.

Now you can find it here: http://www.sciencemadness.org/smwiki/index.php/Topical_Compe...
The Elements chapter is a reformatted version of bfesser's original. I've transferred everything from it, along with the additions proposed by elementcollector1 at the beginning of this thread.

If you don't have wiki editing access yet but want to work on it, feel free to U2U me and I will create an account for you.

Edit: Please post future discussion about the Topical Compendium in the Wiki Thread.
