Storage of a small quantity of anhydrous liquid ammonia?


I am keen on condensing some ammonia gas on a dry ice bath and storing it as a solvent for use in various reactions, but I would want to do this properly. I only want to store 1L of ammonia at the most. Should be extremely easy to recover after reactions.

I've seen in videos that when in a compressed tank, it can be poured out as liquid, which I think means it doesn't have a huge vapor pressure, but I have not been able to find any information on the vapor pressure of ammonia. What sort of pressure-rated tank would I need to store a liter or 2?

A small 1 liter tank could be chilled on an ice bath and have the ammonia condensed directly into it and then sealed following a reaction. Then I would slightly chill it before reuse and pour the ammonia out into my reaction flask.

I think you've got all you need there. Anyway, about 10 Bars at 25ÂșC is required to keep Ammonia as a liquid.
