4-methylaminorex with methylenedioxy bridge

has 4-methyl-5-(3,4-methylenedioxyphenyl)-2-amino-oxazoline, ever been prepared and/or bioassayed?

On 4-MAR analogues

It 'almost' has. See the original paper on the synthesis of aminorex analogues: Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 6, 266-272 (1967). The 3,4-methylenedioxyaminorex analogue is included in the table on page 267 as compound XXXIII, but the signs are not promising. Taken from page 269:
Quote:
Substitutions on the benzene ring of I had a profound effect on activity. Alkoxy substituents (XXIX - XXXIV) reduced anorectic activity to a very low level as did a p-isopropyl and p-carbomethoxy group XXVIII, XXXV).
There was some discussion on its 4-methyl homologue at the Hive. The general consensus was that it was unlikely to be active.

i just needed to point out that the reference
Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 6, 266-272 (1967)

is probably Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 6, 266-272 (1963)

first, if the full text is available it would be paramount reading
how many ring substituted analogs are eluded to in this paper?

the ability to characterize for the posterity of journals/abstracts all the "essential" oxazolines may soon be illuminated
