ouch, improvised distillation apparatus whe dealing with explosives, be careful!
maybe a bit off the topic but has anyone heard that silver fulminate can be prepared by reacting silver oxide with ammonia? this would beat silver nitrate + nitric acid + EtOH anyday!
I wonder if it works with other salts, eg lead? :P

Silver oxide and ammonia produce silver nitride, not silver fulminate.
