I've never been able to get this catalyst to work...I think it is very picky to the quality of your reagents and the preparation. I even have a copy
of the original book where that article is from

Urushibara cats work, just need to note the limitations, similar to Raney. They tend to be more forgiving of reagent quality than Raney, but there are
limits.
