Regarding the Sudden Influx of Gore...
Today some sick person started flooding the forum with disgusting, frightening gore pictures. Please report these as "spam" rather than anything else,
as the auto-deletion code will take care of the rest. While I could go and manually delete the posts, I have a feeling that they will keep posting
more, so auto-deletion is by far the best solution, particularly since moderators may not be around all the time. I will contact Bert requesting an IP
ban.

A window comes up.
Don't enter anything but the word "spam".
Hit the "report post" button below the window...

Not true, actually! Older established accounts are protected against autodeletion by the spam report handling system. Only recent accounts can be
deleted this way. Otherwise it would be too easy for a trusted spam-reporter to accidentally or maliciously delete a valid user account.

I think Bert's point is that if you pretend to be a spammer it's awfully easy for someone to get the wrong end of the stick and get wiped.
Fortunately Polverone put safeguards in place when he allowed 1 staff member or two trusted ordinary members to blast someone's account out of
existence with one word.
