OpenChem science video template and guide

'OpenChem' is a package of materials and guides for anyone who wants to have a go at making their own science videos. You can use it as-is, modify it, use bits of it, use it for practice only until you have the confidence to create your own media, use it just for fun, create crazy ChemPlayer parody videos... whatever you want! The 'how to' guide also contains all of our tips and tricks we've learned over the past year making videos so might be worth a look if nothing else.

We debated the name (doesn't really explain what it is), but it's simple so it will do. Files are contained at a public Google drive page which is here:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B3sUG3mqSERHc1FST3JpOUphTj...

To get started, the 'introduction' folder contains a file which is pretty self-explanatory and tells you what all the files are and how to get started, what software we use, and some other tips.

Note that this is accessible without a Google login, but you'll find it much easier to download the files if you log-in and then right click+download. Feel free to duplicate them all (as a package please) into other locations if you want; we're not sure if Google is going to be 'amateur-science-friendly' forever (we already have a plan B for the video archive just in case because we sense dark clouds on the horizon). The 'introduction' and 'how to guide' are attached here as well.

There's a quick intro in our final (for this season!) video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0maesQhRdo

Hope this will be of help and interest to some people; even if only as a kick-start...

I am so sad to see one of my favorite chemistry YouTubers go. Thanks for all the great videos.
